Copy and paste between your computer and phone

A shared clipboard for your laptop and phone: paste text on one device and it appears on the other instantly. Works across Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android.

Copying a link, an address or a code snippet from your computer and needing it on your phone a minute later is one of those small daily annoyances. Apple's Universal Clipboard only works between Apple devices signed in to the same account, and Windows' clipboard sync needs a Microsoft account and the right keyboard app on Android.

Twinpad gives you a shared text pad that lives on all your devices at once. Paste on the laptop, and it's on the phone before you've picked it up. It works between any browser on any operating system.

How to share your clipboard between computer and phone

  1. Open twinpad.me on your computer and click Create session.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone. Both devices now show the same Shared text pad.
  3. Paste with Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac). The text appears on your phone as you type.
  4. On the phone, tap Copy all to put the whole text on the phone's clipboard, ready to paste anywhere.

Going the other way works the same: paste or type on the phone, copy on the computer.

More than a clipboard

The shared pad is a real-time collaborative editor, not a one-shot copy. That makes it useful for a few things a normal clipboard can't do:

Copying passwords? Use Secrets instead

The shared text is visible to everyone in the session and stays until the session ends. For a password, API token or Wi-Fi key, use the Secrets panel next to it: values are masked, copied with one click, and the clipboard is cleared again after 30 seconds. Mark a secret as one-time and it's deleted from the server the moment the other device opens it. More in how to send a password securely.

AndroidChrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet or Edge

Devices don't need to be on the same network. Up to 8 devices can join one session.

Frequently asked questions

Is the text stored on a server?

Only in encrypted form, and only while the session lives. The encryption key is derived in your browser and never sent to the server, so the server can't read what you paste. See how the encryption works.

Can I keep a session open all day?

Yes. Choose 8 or 24 hours when you create it, and extend it from the menu if you need more time.

Does it work without internet?

No. Twinpad syncs through its server over the internet, which is what lets devices on different networks connect.
